In late '94 Food Fight Restaurant Group was established to provide administrative services for the four independent restaurant businesses we operated at the time, namely, Monty's Blue Plate Diner, Blue Plate Catering, Pasta Per Tutti and Bluephies Delicatessen.

Restaurants were in my blood... dishwasher at 13, busboy at 14, waiter at 16, manager at 21 and I opened my first restaurant in Minneapolis at 24.  After 3 years I returned to school (but still held on to a restaurant job).  Although I enjoyed education, in '89, I found myself back where I started.  With that said, it was destiny when I met Peder Moren, Connie Maxwell and Joe Krupp, who had just purchased the Havey Brothers Gas Station at 2089 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI.  After a 30 minute conversation, Peder and I were able to strike a deal and Monty's Blue Plate Diner was born.  We remodeled and expanded the old gas station into a retro diner-- serving imaginative, contemporary food with a large vegetarian selection.

Fast forward to today where we find ourselves improving our systems and polishing a strong foundation from which to grow. Our key focus is to attract the best, brightest and most motivated personnel we can find.  We're hoping that's you!

With 10 unique concepts and 11 locations, everyday is a new experience. You may ask---what is the icing on the cake? The boasting rights. When you work at a Food Fight restaurant, you'll get used to hearing "This is my all-time favorite restaurant!" We never get tired of hearing that. It feels good to be part of what makes Madison such a great place to live.
